The Japanese PS60 steel from the manufacturer Hitachi is a very low-maintenance but still high-performance steel, which is also used for the production of razor blades. PS60 knife steel can be described as stainless steel. The exact steel composition is currently unknown.

However, it is certain that this steel can achieve a Rockwell hardness of over 60 HRC. We offer this steel as part of the Kanehide series. Blades from this Japanese forge reach 60 - 61 HRC. If you are looking for a steel that is actually stainless, but at the same time hard, you will find a terrific solution with an excellent price-performance ratio in a PS60 blade.
